It might not equal the stature of My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, but David Byrne has once again sought out a collaborator to help produce a new album. This time, Byrne has worked with Fatboy Slim on a concept record titled Here Lies Love, which is an aural document of the life of Imelda Marcos.
This bizarre but intriguing proposition is set for release on Feb. 23, and is a 22-track double album packed full of guest vocalists. Florence Welch (from Florence and the Machine), Tori Amos and Santigold are among the contributors who presumably wore many pairs of shoes in the studio.
The lavish boxed set packaging will include two CDs, a 100-page book and a DVD. "The story I am interested in is about asking what drives a powerful person, what makes them tick? How do they make and then remake themselves?" David Byrne writes in the introduction to the book.
