It’s already been close to a year since Michael Jackson died, and some big memorial celebrations are planned once that 12-month period is up on June 25. Chief among them is a chance to visit Jackson’s grave at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale in Los Angeles, which is likely to be overwhelmed with fans when the day comes around.
Nevertheless, the folks at Forest Lawn, who previously prevented fans from visiting the grave, are prepared to let fans pay their respects on June 25, although it’s not clear yet how close they will be able to get. "Basically, they will be viewing it from a distance,” said Sgt. Tom Lorenz of the Glendale police department.
"We will be working closely with Forest Lawn to ensure the safety of those who want to pay their respects to Michael Jackson, while ensuring the safety of others who are coming to the cemetery to pay respect to their loved ones,” said Lorenz. The charges against Dr. Conrad Murray, who is alleged to have mistreated Jackson while in his care, will be heard just before the anniversary on June 14.
