Fans Crash Staples Website Seeking Tickets For Jackson Memorial

More than 1.6 million requests were filed for a pair of the eleven thousand tickets to the public memorial to be held for Michael Jackson at L.A.'s Staples Center on Tuesday. Though the sheer amount of requests at times caused the venue's website to crash, representatives said that all the filed requests would  be placed in a random drawing, and those receiving tickets would be notified by e-mail Monday. They will then have to go to an undisclosed location to pick up tickets and a wrist band, both of which will be required for entry. Jackson family spokesman Ken Sunshine said that these steps were being taken to curb scalping of the tickets as well as minimize fans showing up without tickets. In addition, the ceremony will not be shown on the facility's outdoor screen. [Yahoo]
