Recently, the electronic supergroup Swedish House Mafia announced they would be calling it quits after this summer's tour, but hopes for a happy send-off are in serious jeopardy. At their Dublin stop this past Saturday, the crowd got out of control, leading to nine people being stabbed and at least thirty people being arrested, as well as one unrelated death.
The disaster allegedly stems from a few separate incidents. First, a large fight broke out involving broken bottles and knives that resulted in at least five injuries. Then, a 23-year-old man was arrested after attacking others and inflicting four stabbings. A 20-year-old man also died following a suspected drug overdose.
Thirty people were arrested after being charged with assault, drugs, and "public order offences." It seems Swedish House Mafia were largely oblivious to the events, given the size of the event. They haven't released any statement yet; they only thank the crowd for a "great night" in Dublin on their Twitter. [BPM/NME]
