Fall Out Boy fans who showed up at Washington Square Park in NYC yesterday expecting to see the free show that was promised by Pete Wentz on Sunday left disappointed, as NYC police shut the concert down because the band didn't have proper permits.

MTV News was there to capture the performance, but ended up seeing Fall Out Boy's attempts to bribe the police to allow them to play, and then interviewed the group afterwards that the police told them not to play instruments at the show, but were cool with them doing one a capella song.

I can't imagine Fall Out Boy fans are the type to cause riots, but the police seemed concerned that there would be some kind of incident, and they had to shut it down based on the band lacking the proper permits. [MTV]
