Facebook Makes Bono The Richest Musician In The World

Reports say that when Facebook finally went public on the New York Stock Exchange today, Bono, who owns stock in the company, became the richest musician in the world, surpassing Sir Paul McCartney.

Bono’s private equity firm Elevation Partners initially spent $90 million to purchase 2.3 percent of Facebook’s ownership. In just over a year, the company’s valuation bloomed, and now Bono’s shares are worth roughly $1.5 billion.

For context, Paul McCartney, previously the world’s richest musician, is worth just over $1 billion.
