Extra security problems for Extra Golden
En route to their debut European performance at the Stop.Spot! Festival in Linz, Austria, Extra Golden'''s Kenyan members were stopped short by the French border patrol. Touring in support of their October 9th release Hera Ma Nono on Thrill Jockey Records, the band was held and interrogated at the airport in what was meant to be a layover. Despite having all appropriate documents and visas, the musicians''' lack of money raised the suspicions of the Paris guards. After several hours and assurances by concert promoters, the band members were finally allowed to fly on to Vienna. Barring any further problems, Extra Golden is set to take the stage on the 26th. Between this and Death Cab'''s Chris Walla having his hard drive snagged by US Border Control, one has to ask: Are security snafus the new PR?
