When it comes to a solo record by a member of the Beach Boys, most of the love is reserved for Brian Wilson. He, though, will be only one of many musicians pitching in on Al Jardine's solo set, which he describes as a travelogue up California's Coast Route 1. In addition to Wilson, Neil Young, Steve Miller, Flea, and the incomparable Glen Campbell will be pitching in one form or another. Jardine is currently looking for a distributor for the set, and here's hoping that he finds one. The California sound has been dominated by that whippersnapper Jack Johnson for far too long. Why do we have an artist page for Glen Campbell?
I love Glen Campbell. That late '60s period when he was doing Jimmy Webb songs - you can't beat that. "Wichita Lineman" is a total classic.
Agreed.
