I thought Evangelicals' So Gone would get a lot more love on 2006 year-end lists than it did. Oh well, certainly not the first time I was wrong about something, nor the last time I'm sure to be. Chalk SG up as a relatively undiscovered gem.The good folks over at Daytrotter recently had Evangelicals (who recently moved from Misra over to the new Secretly Canadian/Jagjaguwar offshoot, Dead Oceans) drop by for a live performance. The band plays two songs from So Gone, "Here Comes Trouble" and "Another Day" (mistakenly labeled "Another Way"--easy gaffe to make). They follow those up with an older unreleased track, "The Halloween Song (The Ghost of Abner E. Norman)" and newbie "Skeleton Man." Detect a scary theme? Yeah, the session was recorded in October.
