With two solo albums in the can, Jarvis Cocker continues to thrive in his post-Pulp career as he's now moved from Britpop ambassador to cultural ambassador for rail line Eurostar. Cocker's main duty with his regal post is promoting the brand's Culture Connect initiative, which entails promotional deals with 15 museums in London, Paris and Brussels including The National Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum, le Musée d'Art moderne de la Ville de Paris, and the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium.
Speaking to Brand Republic, Cocker, who now resides in Paris, says, "As Ambassador for Culture Connect, I'm encouraging everyone to get on a train and explore the culture of another country...TV, films and the internet may be great at showing you what something looks like, but they are no substitute for seeing works of art with your own eyes." As a little caveat for his ambassadorship, Cocker is also the cover boy for Eurostar's onboard magazine Metropolitan.
