Is comedy the new indie rock? One could make a strong argument for that being so. Patton Oswalt just released an album on Sub Pop. This week finds a record from Flight of the Conchords, an act that blends music with yuks, out on that same indie-tastic label. And now a regular appearer on Flight of the Conchords, Eugene Mirman, has announced some upcoming tour dates. (Hilarious landlord role there, Eugene, but is there a funnier character on TV than Murray the band manager right now? Fleetwood Mac's Rumours? No, all true.)Mirman is no stranger to the indie rock scene, having opened for the likes of Modest Mouse in the past. Accordingly, Mirman will largely eschew traditional comedy venues on these dates for more rock-oriented clubs. Follow on after jump for Mirman's appearance itinerary, including a New York City gig that will taped for an upcoming Comedy Central special...
8/11 Philadelphia, PA - The Khyber
8/12 Washington, DC - Rock and Roll Hotel
8/13 Chapel Hill, NC - Local 506
8/17-19 Cambridge, MA - The Comedy Studio
8/24 New York, NY - Hudson Theater
9/1-3 Seattle, WA - Bumbershoot

I must go to the NYC show.
