Estelle and “American Boy” back on iTunes

Warner’s intentions were clear when it removed Estelle’s Shine from Apple’s iTunes store this past August. The label giant wanted to force consumers to purchase Estelle’s music, particularly her hit single "American Boy" (ft. Kanye West), from traditional retail outlets. Or at least they were pissed that iTunes was seemingly responsible for housing and marketing the song here in the states, where the British R&B singer was making her debut. The plan backfired, as have most, if not all of the majors’ attempts to exert their will on the Internet music market. Estelle’s music has suddenly and quietly reappeared on iTunes, meaning you’re late to the game if you had a swinging karaoke version of "American Boy" all set to take over the download market in its absence.
