Fest mania: the Essence of New Orleans

New Orleans' best known big musical event may be its annual Jazz Fest, but the Crescent City also plays host to a music festival put on by Essence magazine. This year's incarnation will take place July 5-7. Amongst the artists scheduled to perform are Beyonce, Ludacris, Mary J. Blige, Common, Public Enemy, and Slum Village.
