Erykah Badu Not Happy With The NSFW Music Video She Did With The Flaming Lips, Takes To Facebook

Woah, so apparently all that collabo-art goodwill joint-experimentation wasn’t all roses and smiles between Wayne Coyne and Erykah Badu. Erykah, who recorded the excellent “The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face” with the Lips and starred in its profoundly NSFW video with her sister, just took to Facebook to accuse Mr. Coyne of misdirection, dishonesty, and maybe a dash of perversion, mostly in reply to that aforementioned raunchy clip, and what she thought it was going to look like. “Kiss my glittery ass” she concludes.

The Flaming Lips responded by saying that the video that made it out to the internet was both unedited and unapproved and “accept full responsibility.” So that solves that, I guess? This whole thing goes to show you that if you’re making ethically borderline art with a guy like Wayne Coyne, some unflattering images might make it out.
