The Beatles may be slow in joining the digital revolution—their albums aren’t, as yet, available on iTunes or any other digital music provider—but they have made a small step in that direction. A limited edition USB stick containing the 14 recently remastered albums from the band’s back catalog will be issued on December 7.
The unique item is limited to just 30,000 editions and is shaped like an apple. The price will be considerable—£200 in the U.K. or 279.99 of your U.S. dollars—but they are likely to be snapped up immediately by collectors. The USB stick will also include original artwork and album covers for each record.
Audiophiles need not worry about the quality of the drives, as the files contained on it will be available as high quality 320 Kbps MP3s and also in the lossless audio FLAC format. Pre-orders for the sticks, which are PC and Mac compatible, are now being taken on the official Beatles website.
