Slim-Fast seeks Eminem for sponsorship deal

Responding to recent reports that Slim Shady isn’t so slim anymore (that, for the record, was almost too easy), Slim-Fast has offered rapper Eminem an endorsement deal. The company says that in addition to seeking publicity, it would love to offer Eminem “products and assistance to help him become a Slim-Fast success story.” If Eminem accepts the deal, he would join a group that already includes Shari Belafonte, Tom Lasorda, Whoopi Goldberg, and the always fierce Kathy Lee Gifford.  Though the temptation to join such an illustrious club must be tantalizing, Eminem should probably let this particular opportunity slide. Hawking a weight-loss product might actually be a rung below going on Celebrity Fit Club, and if Eminem keeps gaining weight, he might be able to position himself as the Marlon Brando of the rap world. Better to be reclusive, crazy, and huge than thin and forced to admit that you needed grandma's meal replacement shakes to help you get there. [NME]
