In a recent interview with Billboard's the Juice, T.I. reveals that he has the utmost respect for fellow troubled rapper/previous collaborator Eminem. And it goes beyond the fact that the Detroit native has made some big moves this year, including signing Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse to Shady Records and dropping the Hell: The Sequel EP with Royce da 5'9". T.I. notes that he was able to kick his addiction to prescription pills thanks in part to advice from Eminem, who faced similar issues in the past. They haven't been in touch since Tip got out of prison back in late September, but he's hopeful that will change soon. He also shared the following insight for anyone who's battling their own addiction(s):
"Everybody can tell you what you need to do, how to do it, when you need to do it, how bad you need to do it," T.I. continued. "But until you get that right ass whipping, as they say, and until you have hit rock bottom or have seen something in yourself that is so out of character and it displeases you so much that you just have no choice but to change it ... then you ain't going to see it."
