EMI Thinking About Selling Abbey Road Studios

Do you have (roughly) $40 million stuffed into your mattress? Well, I've got a hell of a news item that might be worht spending your wad over: Spinner UK is reporting that cash-strapped label EMI is mulling over selling the legendary Abbey Road Studios for about $40 million (or 20 million pounds, as it were). Apparently it's too expensive for bands to actually record there, since you, know, on account of The Beatles basically living there in the '60s, and EMI has decided to unload it for cash.

EMI really can think outside the box: How much money do you think they could make just by turning that into a museum? I guess not $40 million, but probably enough to lower the recording costs. [Spinner UK]
