On October 30, EMI Music Canada launched its Platinum Collection, a new series of CD'''s that will feature some of the biggest artists from the EMI, Capitol and Virgin labels (Al Green, Blondie, Chet Baker, Kenny Rogers, MC Hammer, The Band, The Hollies, The Stray Cats). New titles will be added twice a year and will feature the artists''' hits with new artwork and will have ''"an easily identifiable and collectible look.''"

The releases are packaged in 100% recycled paperboard and the discs are packed in PaperFoam which is made from natural renewable materials, is 100% biodegradable, and contains 90% less carbon than jewel cases.
