Elliott Smith Rarity "Misery Let Me Down" Surfaces

There’s been a steady trickle of unreleased Elliott Smith songs since his untimely death in 2003, the latest of which is titled “Misery Let Me Down.” This one dates back to 1997 and has been discovered in the archive of college radio station WMUC, from a time when Smith performed a 10-song set on the show Third Rail Radio.

“Misery Let Me Down” wasn’t part of the final broadcast, but it was performed when Smith was warming up for the show. You can hear the song below via the Washington Post, which details how this rare track finally surfaced after more than a decade spent collecting dust in the vaults. For ardent Smith fans this is another small piece in a puzzle that still feels like it's far from complete.
