Ellie Goulding Wins BBC Sound of 2010 Poll

The BBC conducts a poll every year, which aims to uncover the most exciting new artists of the forthcoming year. Last year, Little Boots was tipped for great success, which was a reasonable bet, and now the top 5 Sound of 2010 list has been completed, with electronic/folk artist Ellie Goulding coming out on top.

The rest of the top 5 was made up of Marina and the Diamonds, Delphic, Hurts and the Drums—all chosen by this long list of tastemakers. Goulding has already appeared on Later…with Jools Holland (see clip above) and seems set to continue the recent trend of aping oddball Kate Bush-ish mannerisms (see also Florence and the Machine, Bat for Lashes, etc.).
