You read that right. It's official. Rumors have been circulating for a while, but now it looks like the Pop biopic The Passenger has the green light with Elijah Wood in the lead role. It will be directed by Nick Gomez, who also directed Drowning Mona. Those involved hope for a summer '08 release. Pop himself is apparently okay with the plans, but won't be involved with the film in any way.
So what do we think? Does the fact that Wood has his own imprint with Yep Roc Records and has directed a video for Apples in Stereo mitigate the fact that...well...you know...he looks absolutely nothing like Iggy Pop! Hope they hire some good makeup people.
