Electric Zoo Announces Set Times, Fan Contest

It's a good time of year to be a dance music fan in New York City: In addition to stops this weekend from the U.S.-roving HARD Summer and Identity festivals, the mammoth Electric Zoo festival will yet again take over Randall's Island Park this Labor Day weekend (Sept. 2-4).

In its third year, Electric Zoo has responded to its rabid fanbase (the 2010 incarnation sold out, with 25,000 attendees each day) by expanding to include a third day for 2011. The event will yet again span four stages and countless sub-genres of electronic music. Acts this year include the likes of Boys Noize, Moby, Tiesto, Rusko, Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77, David Guetta, Tiga, Armin van Buuren, Chromeo, Diplo, Richie Hawtin (performing twice), Crookers, Busy P, Infected Mushroom, Kid Sister, Carte Blanche, James Holden, Carl Cox, Gui Boratto, Nicolas Jaar, MSTRKRFT, and, like, a zillion other artists. Whew.

In an almost unheard of act of fan-pleasing, event producers Made Events have made set times available a full two weeks in advance of the festival -- and have added a nifty little schedule tool to boot. Fans also have a chance to win a pretty sweet prize package that includes three-day VIP passes, CDs, headphones, apparel, and a special meet-and-greet with their favorite artist, all just for naming their favorite track by an Electric Zoo performer (visit Electric Zoo's Facebook page and click Pick Your Fave in the left sidebar to enter). Tickets are still on sale via www.electriczoofestival.com.
