Los Angeles alt-folk family Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros have unveiled their sophomore full-length. Here, the follow-up to 2009’s celebrated Up From Below, hits stores next Tuesday, May 29, via Community Music/Vagrant. Now Here is streaming in full through NPR’s First Listen.
Frontman Alex Ebert recently released a press statement explaining that Here will be followed by a second 2012 album. “In the middle of the recording process we realized we were essentially making a double album,” Ebert stated. “Instead of putting it out all at once, we found that two different albums seemed to be forming. Alone these albums are albums. Together these albums express a varying and so relatively living portrait of our lives.” There’s no word yet on a title or release date for this third Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros album.
