Editors going electronic on new album

Despite the success they've had with their previous two albums--a number one slot in the charts for An End Has A Start and a Mercury Prize nomination for The Back Room--Editors have announced that they are going in a new direction for their upcoming album. Bassist Russell Leetch claims that the band is currently working on about twenty new songs, and that they feature "sounds from old and new synths." He also name-checked a few electronic artists that influenced this change, such as Depeche Mode, Burial, and (inexplicably) Iggy Pop.
