Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is handling most of the music for the upcoming Sean Penn-directed film Into the Wild. J Records is slated to release an album of Vedder's songs from the movie in September. Kaki King and Gustavo Santaolalla are also reportedly contributing to the film's score. Into the Wild is the movie version of the John Krakauer nonfiction account of a man who left his life behind to walk into the Alaskan wilderness, never to return. Scheduled to hit theaters September 21 via Paramount Vantage, the film's stars include Vince Vaughn, Emile Hirsch, and Catherine Keener. Vedder Goes Solo For 'Into The Wild' Soundtrack (Billboard)
