We’re sad to report today that Clarence Clemons, who is a longtime member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, has suffered a stroke at his home in Florida. Clemons is an integral part of Springsteen’s band, and songs like “Born to Run” and “Thunder Road” are as notable for his contributions as they are for the Boss’s songwriting chops.
In recent years Clemons had branched out into the pop world, playing with Lady Gaga on Born This Way tracks “The Edge of Glory” and “Hair” and making occasional TV appearances with her. Some reports are claiming he is “seriously ill” as a result of the stroke—let’s hope that’s not true, and that Clemons makes a speedy recovery.
