Dumbass Political Site Calls Common "Controversial"
So, here's the news: Chicago rapper Common has been invited by First Lady Michelle Obama to speak at a poetry reading this week. The problem you SHOULD have about this is the notion that Common is a poet. Maybe 15 years ago. Have you heard Universal Mind Control? YIKES.
But apparently, the pundits at Daily Caller have deemed this "controversial" because Common has songs with guns in them, and he once had a song that had a line about burning former President Bush. Who, as I'll remind you, was not very kind to the needs of urban African Americans, so Common's anger at him is justified. But here's the dumbass piece saying we should revere Emily Dickinson, and ignore Common because he says things about guns. I don't want to excerpt this, because seriously, this is about the dumbest thing I've read about rap in recent months, and I've read every dumbass think piece about Odd Future.

seriously, common sucks so hard. i had to edit his verses out of songs with other people i like in them..
for example, Kanye and Talib killing it in "Get 'em High" .. then Common comes in with lame lines like 'get em high like noon' ... or 'rappers is hard to find, like a remote'....
so overrated i can't stand it
Common sucks? Resurrection, tho? Like Water for Chocolate? Come on.
Common has had some sub-par efforts lately but his early stuff did wonders for Hip Hop. His newer poppy stuff does suck.
he had classics. okay i admit he didn't come off so strong on "Get Em High" but it happens on posse cuts. what about how he annihilated Cube.
No Common Sense
Com is one of my faves, but I'll admit UMC is garbage and Finding Forever wasn't my favorite. Everything else before that was $ though.
