After a year that saw the reinvention of the band through addition and subtraction, Athens’ Drive By Truckers are ready to reassert themselves as the preeminent rock voice from the Dirty South. The DBT will release their seventh full-length album, Brighter Than Creation’s Dark on January 22 and launch a tour of the continent with two shows at their hometown hangout the 40Watt on January 10-12. For the uninitiated, the DBT’s rock show is not a spectacle to be missed, and the addition of ace organist and frequent Neil Young collaborator Spooner Oldham will only add to the mix.
