Is it possible for a band that has never had a real "hit" to have a greatest hits album? Yes, as the recently announced Drive-By Truckers greatest hits comp, Ugly Buildings, Whores & Politicians: 1998-2009, proves. The southern rock titans are releasing the comp on Aug. 2, and it features 16 tracks running from their first album to their 2009 heights. I guess the real point of the comp is to make it easier for newbies to get into the band, and this should accomplish that. Here's the track list:
The Living Bubba
Bulldozers and Dirt
Ronnie and Neil
Zip City
Let There Be Rock
Marry Me
Sink Hole
Carl Perkins' Cadillac
Outfit
The Righteous Path
Gravity's Gone (Remix)
Never Gonna Change
3 Dimes Down
Lookout Mountain
Uncle Frank (Alternate Version)
A World of Hurt
