Drake's Team Responds To "Marvin's Room" Lawsuit

If you like to keep up with hip-hop nonsense, lawsuits, and what-have-you, chances are you heard about the fact that Drake's being sued by an alleged ex-girlfriend/business partner over "Marvin's Room." The woman, Ericka Lee, wants to songwriting credits on the track and she wants some royalties, too, because she claims she wrote the concept and recorded the voicemails heard on the chorus.

And late last night, Drizzy's team responded to the claims and said that he's looking to be "vindicated in court." Read the statement below (via Pitchfork): 

"This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct. Ericka Lee consented to the use of her voice in the song 'Marvin’s Room' prior to its release. Lee asked only for the credit she received as 'Syren Lyric Muse,' and she did not ask for any compensation. It was only after she retained a lawyer that there was a demand for payment. Drake tried for months to resolve the matter amicably, and he now looks forward to being vindicated in court."
