Drake May Star In Film Alongside Al Pacino, Susan Sarandon

Drake somehow managed to parlay a role on Degrassi: The Next Generation into a career as a rapper -- and a blink-and-you'll-miss-him appearance in the film Charlie Bartlett -- so the news that he's in talks to do a movie isn't all that surprising. But the roster of already attached co-stars is surprising: Oscar winners Al Pacino and Susan Sarandon, as well as Eva Green. So, if he gets the part, he'll be in the company of a bunch of Very Famous People. According to entertainment site The Wrap, the movie sounds like a recession-era look at greed in banking:

"[T]he indie film...follows a hedge fund magnate who is in over his head and desperate to complete the sale of his shady trading empire to a major bank before his fraud is revealed. However, an unexpected, bloody error forces him to turn to the most unlikely corner for help in protecting him from rivals who want to bring him down."

Sure. Okay. Anyway, Arbitage, written by Nicholas Jarecki (who directed the 2005 documentary The Outsider) is supposed to start shooting at some point in March, so if Drake lands the role, we'll likely get official word soon. [via MTV]
