According to the New York Post, Drake has let go several members of his management team. The 25-year-old Toronto rapper, who easily topped the Billboard 200 with his latest album Take Care, reportedly fired managers Gee Roberson, Al Branch, Kyambo Joshua and Bryant Cortez of Hip Hop Since 1978, the same firm that manages fellow Young Money stars Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne, as well as Kanye West. In the midst of his recent success, Drake also decided to split from his agents Dana Sims and Robert Gibbs at International Creative Management.
An assistant to agent Brent Smith of William Morris Endeavor (WME, the world's largest talent agency) confirmed tha he will now be representing Drake. Smith also acts as the agent for Snoop Dogg, David Crosby and Graham Nash. An unidentified source told to NY Post, "“Drake just felt like there were too many hands in his pockets. He was getting pulled in too many different directions.” Well, can't blame him for feeling like that. Wonder if this'll impact his place with Young Money at all. [TDS]
