The excruciating wait for Dr. Dre’s Detox just got a little longer. To say the album is “long-awaited” would be an understatement, but the producer is in no rush to appease his fans. In an interview with MTV News, Dre said that he is hoping to collaborate with Jay-Z on the album.
"Well, actually, Jay-Z's just been in the studio doing some writing," Dr Dre said. "Hopefully I'll get him to perform on the record. Jay, come holler." Leaked songs from the album have shown that Nas and R. Kelly are already on board, but with Jay-Z busy promoting The Blueprint 3, it may take some time to bring him into the fold.
The latest release date for Detox is sometime in 2010, although no one should hold their breath in anticipation—Dre also suggested the album would be ready in ’09. "Hopefully, I'll get it done at the end of this year, and we can hear it next year,” he told ABC News earlier this month. [MTV]
