Dr. Dre To Work With Kendrick Lamar, Slim The Mobster

Man, remember when Detox actually looked like it was going to make it out this year? Seems really silly right now. Regardless, Dr. Dre is still (apparently) working on music, specifically he’s working with Kendrick Lamar and Slim the Mobster. He claims that he’ll be “devoting all of his attention to them,” here’s the full quote taken from an interview with Global Grind.

“I am never going to give music up. Music is like air to me; [music] is like oxygen, so I am always doing that. As soon as I get back to Los Angeles, I am back in the studio doing my thing. I have a couple of new artists that I am excited about, Kendrick Lamar and Slim The Mobster. These are the next two artists, and these are probably my final two artists that I am going to be working with at least for the next couple of years. I am going to devote all my attention to them and make sure their shit comes out the way it should be. I am just having fun with life right now!”

Interesting, both of these guys seem like pretty obvious matches for what Dre does well, but the jury is still out on whether Dre can do what Dre does well in 2011. Maybe Dre and Lamar will be trading verses soon? I mean, we can hope. [2dopeboyz]
