Look, we all want to believe Detox will finally be released soon after Dr. Dre released his latest single, "Kush," last week. And he's not helping us deal with the fact it could be delayed for the millionth time by saying it should be out early next year. But now he's apparently told XXL that he's done recording albums as a solo artist once Detox drops.
"As far as me going into the mic booth, that s**t is over," Dr. Dre revealed. "I’m always going to talent scout and try to find new artists to work with. But, yeah, that’s it. I don’t see myself doing it the way I’m doing it now…"
Dre, who turns 46 this coming February, went on to say that his age is playing a key role in what he raps about.
"I can incorporate other artists, new artists with this record [Detox], to say some of the things I won’t say. It’s been a little tussle in that area also, just because of age and being able to identify with the younger audience.”
You can't really blame him for feeling this way as I doubt he's partying, drinking, and smoking quite as much as he did 10 to 15 years ago. But but maybe he wouldn't be saying all of this if Detox had come out like, oh, five years ago.
dude this isn't news....he's been saying for years that this is supposed to be his last album
