Download Kendrick Lamar’s ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ Samples

Much like they did for another of rap’s high profile releases, G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer, Gianni Lee and Mike Blud offer an alternative perspective on Kendrick Lamar‘s brand new and instantly acclaimed debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d city. The pair have compiled various samples used across the 15-track deluxe LP, including Janet Jackson’s “Anytime, Anyplace” for “Poetic Justice,” Kanye West’s “We Major” for “m.A.A.d city” and Kool & The Gang’s “Summer Madness” for “Compton.”

Not only is it interesting to hear how the likes of Just Blaze, Pharrell and Sounwave flipped the samples, but how one of hip-hop’s finest contemporary pieces was built on clippings of vintage R&B, Soul and Funk. You can view the tracklist below and download good kid, m.A.A.d city – The Samples here.
