Los Angeles producer Goldroom has a much bigger palate than the bubbling synth pop, house, and dance he's known for. He just dropped a cover of one of todays most renowned a surely missed singer songwriters Elliott Smith. Goldroom turns Smith's somber acoustic driven "St. Ides Heaven" into an electric and dance beat driven song. So if you've ever wondered what Elliott Smith would have sounded like on the dance floor this is your chance.
Via his Soundcloud, the producer noted:
Elliott Smith is one of my songwriting idols, simple as that. Sometimes I really feel like the emotional songwriting part of music gets a bit lost within the dance music world, which was a big reason I picked this amazing song to cover. I just wanted to try and do my best to honor such a great musician and one of my favorite songs.
Goldroom will be releasing a new material via his Embrace EP which will be released on September 9, 2013.
