Some of instrumental music's finest, and perhaps most slept-on, acts have come together to take part in the second annual Gem Drops compilation. It's a release put together by the folks at indie label Dropping Gems who aim to highlight both their own sound-manipulatin artists and some of the world's finest.
In their words: "[W]e've assembled exclusive material from a whole new set of prominent forward-thinking producers, and once again paired them with brand new material from our collective's members." What that means is you get some new gems (no pun) from the likes of Daedelus, LDFD, S. Maharba, Co. Fee, Strangeloop, and Natasha Kmeto blended in with tunes from Citymouth, Bone Rock, and DJAO.
You can stream the compilation below and download it on Bandcamp. It's offered at a pay-what-you-want price, which means you can choose to grab it for free or throw some money down. If you do the latter, your money will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Enjoy.
