Doves will be coming to North America this summer for 18 shows to promote the forthcoming album, Kingdom of Rust. Drummer Andy Williams is excited at the prospect of going on the road, in an interview with Spin.com he explains,
"We've not been on the road for four years. It's going to be great getting out there again...Whether it's on the tour bus or plane or whatever, a new place and the experiences you're going to have are always exciting. It's one of the joys of touring."
Ending the touring hiatus isn't the only thing Doves has to be excited about at the moment. The band has beaten Oasis in the race to record a song for the soccer club both groups support- Manchester City. Doves' version of the club song "Blue Moon" will be played before tonight's game in Manchester.
