'Dosa Hunt' Film Combines Good Musicians And Indian Food

A dosa is a savory South Indian pancake. If you're hungry, go out and find one and have it as your afternoon snack. Dosas are delicious. They are also the subject of Dosa Hunt, a new short film from Amrit Singh, which is all about an intense search for NYC's perfect dosa and features an impressive handful of other Indian (and non-Indian) musicians, including Himanshu Suri of Das Racist, Anand Wilder of Yeasayer and Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend.

The trailer alone gives a pretty good idea of what's in store: "Uh, just, uh, in a van, on a dosa hunt, with a bunch of Indian dudes." "Happens all the time." The short opens this weekend at Nitehawk Cinema in Brooklyn, so if you're in the area, try to buy tickets before they sell out. Can't get your hands on a ticket? Hey, you can always eat a dosa.
