Unless you're obsessed with action movies like some of us, you aren't going to go back and rewatch every single James Bond movie before the release of Skyfall on Nov. 9. The best you can hope for is to simply see some of the highlights to make sure you haven't left a particular era out.
For instance, any of the Sean Connery ones are appropriate, but perhaps Goldfinger is the best. Of course, From Russia With Love would be just as good. You may as well skip the George Lazenby period, as there's only one, and his portrayal of 007 is pretty far removed from other versions.
Roger Moore was Bond for the longest, and for the most movies, so make sure to catch a couple of his. Moonraker and Live and Let Die should cover it. Timothy Dalton's Bond was a bit darker, and not as well received. Stick with The Living Daylights, as License to Kill makes 007 look like an off-kilter psychopath.
GoldenEye and Casino Royale are, thus far, the best Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig entries respectively. There's no need to beat around the bush.
There you have it -- six movies you'll need to rewatch (or see for the first time) in the next few weeks. Of course, if you don't have the time, you can cram all 23 films into about five minutes with this amazing mini mix below from A.Skillz & Krafty Kuts. Best of all are the highlights of the awesome Bond songs we've gotten over the years.
