DJ Premier's podcast shut down?

As if we needed even more proof that music execs just don't get it, there's word that DJ Premier's Live from HeadQcourterz podcasts were hit with a cease-and-desist from the RIAA for "broadcasting copywritten material."
Gee, if there's one thing that will doom the music industry, it is people hearing the music those guys are trying to sell. Actually, that might be true, because 95% of it sucks balls. But really, can you think of a better ad for a hip-hop artist than being able to say that Primo likes your stuff and gave you some play?
It appears that Premier is looking for a new site to host his show, so the podcast may not die completely. Here's to hoping...

Its too bad. From that show I was able to hear artists that I have never heard before. Actually, from hearing his show I was able learn about Marco Polo, and I went out and bought his album. The RIAA is seriously hurting the pockets of artist. In particular, underground artist. Most underground is not played on the airwaves. Even college radio is not giving the music shine. (88.9 fm in boston moving the underground show from 8pm to 11pm into the late night spot.).When will this all end.....Big ups to Premier for doing the show.
