Disney's High Schoolers flunking with third iteration

The head scratching phenomenon known as High School Musical is finally nearing its inevitable end, as the three upfront singles from the film have failed to register with an audience that has moved on to acts like Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers or simply grown up and gotten a life. Now the most fun left to have is predicting which of the cast will go on to become a bankable star (a la Ryan Gosling from Breaker High), go into a tailspin in the manner of the famous Coreys, and which one will most likely have an uncomfortable "Is it or isn't it the person?" moments at a Starbucks in Ojai. Idolator makes the argument that HSM is somehow the best example for music sales in the digital age. While I accede that the sales were helped by a generation of teeny boppers getting their first iPods, the model remains the same. Kids pick a safe form of music, their parents buy it for them, they move on. See Hanson, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, NKOTB, Menudo, or a million other bands. [Idolator]
