Most people who caught Miley Cyrus' performance last night at the Teen Choice Awards were more than happy to discuss her provocative pole-dancing skills, but at least one entity is keeping mum. A spokesperson for Disney, which is home to Cyrus' "Hannah Montana" series, issued the following statement. "Disney Channel won't be commenting on that performance, although parents can rest assured that all content presented on the Disney Channel is age-appropriate for our audience -- kids 6-14 -- and consistent with what our brand values are."
Cyrus had a differing view on her rendition of "Party in the U.S.A." and says the show was supposed to be a nod to her Tennessee upbringing. "[My] performance tonight is funny, but I wanted it to be about [something more]," said the 16-year-old starlet. "I'm like, 'This is to represent where I am from. I'm so proud of it.' All the girls trying to be Hollywood and stuff with their big glasses, me shooing them away." Judging by her performance Monday, she does this in hot pants. [MTV News]
