Disco D commits suicide

Hip-hop producer and Ghettotech stalwart Dave Shayman (a.k.a. Disco D) was found dead in his apartment yesterday morning of an apparent suicide. He was twenty-seven years old. Most popular for his work with 50 Cent, Shayman was also one of the main figures of the fledgling Ghettotech scene in Detroit while still a teenager; it's often said that he was the one who coined the genre's name. Shayman had stated in interviews that he struggled with manic-depression for much of his life. You can find a fitting eulogy here.
