Sources close to the band are reporting that Brooklyn’s
Dirty Projectors have signed a deal with Domino Records.
Dirty Projectors have had a fluid lineup over the last five years, but front man Dave Longstreth has been joined of late by multi-instrumentalists Amber Coffman, Angel Deradoorian, and Brian Mcomber. This lineup created much buzz last year with
Rise Above, a collection of Black Flag songs that Longstreth recalled from memory. The band is playing a European schedule during the spring and summer, and will then resume work on two distinct projects, one of which will be its debut for Domino sometime in 2009. No further details were released about the projects. [

can't wait for these!
Domino is signing some good acts lately... White Williams and now the Dirty Projectors.
This is long and very much deserved! I love this band. And now that this whole indie-African-folk thing is gaining steam it will be nice for more people to hear one of the bands in the last decade who have been doing it the best and doing it the most justice. Congrats, Dave!

Two new albums on the way? Very exciting news.
