Here’s an early surprise for 2010—Dirty Projectors are releasing a limited edition 7-inch single, and it’s available today (Jan. 11) from the Domino Mart. store. The record contains two tracks, “Ascending Melody” and “Emblem of the World,” which were recorded during the Bitte Orca sessions but weren’t included on the finished record.
Proving that they’re generous sorts, the band have also made the tracks available as free downloads from their official website. Simply submit an email address in the box provided, and instructions on how to gain the MP3 files will be sent to you. The physical version of the song costs $5.99 and can be ordered here.
Dirty Projectors have a couple of special shows set up for the early part of the year. They play at Lincoln Center in New York on Feb. 19 as part of the American Songbook series, and will co-headline with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on Feb. 27.
