Dirty Projectors Cover Dylan’s “I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine”

Joining the likes of Nas, the Swell Season, and She and Him, Dirty Projectors have taken part in the Levi’s Pioneer Sessions, recording a cover of Bob Dylan’s “I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine.” Taken from the 1968 album John Wesley Harding, Projector frontman Dave Longstreth seems to be emulating Dylan right down to the Minnesota accent. The cover makes for a nice companion piece to the original; it's more an homage to than a rethinking of. Fellow Projectors Angel Deradoorian and Amber Coffman back Longstreth vocally with a sparse acoustic backdrop accompanying them. You can stream the track here, or opt for a free download here.
