We previously reported that Snoop Dogg and Diplo were recording a joint album together and that they were already 18 tracks deep. That news has been fleshed out by the folks at MTV who spoke with the producer and learned exactly where these guys are going sonically.
"Snoop Dogg is an icon, man; he's bigger than the music. What we're doing is a reggae record," he said.
"It's all reggae and he's singing and he's doing a fucking awesome job and I never knew it, but he had his heart in every song."
Well, this is certainly a surprise, if only because most of us were expected Snoop to just be rapping over some choice beats by Diplo. But a reggae album? Damn.
